    Duma: The False Accusation

The cynical abuse of Roman Zadarov, serving a life prison sentence for a murder that he apparently did not commit, is nothing compared to what is happening now with Amiram Oliel. These are the main points of the story: On the 15th of Av 5775 (July 2015) two homes in the Arab village of Duma were set on fire. A couple and their son were killed. Graffiti saying “Revenge” and “Long live the king Mashiach” were found scrawled on the buildings. The President and Prime Minister imm

Duma: It Can Happen to Anyone

The confessions that were attained through torture of the youth in the Duma trial will not be considered valid – so the judges decided. But the confessions attained between one torture session and the next - will be considered valid. The parents and a small child were killed in the blaze in 2015. The balloon inflated by the politicians, Israel’s Internal Security Service and the media, who immediately accused Jews of torching the home – has burst. Zehut calls for the immediate release of the Duma prisoners. Th

    Selective Horror

Hats off to Israel’s public broadcast corporation, which has not let us forget for one moment that a police officer kicked an Arab, leftist protester in his leg over the weekend. Police brutality, particularly when it is directed at detainees – is a very serious matter and it is good that it is being spotlighted. But after an opening monologue on the event and 20 minutes into the newscast on Israel Broadcasting Corporation, they were still on the same topic. In an attempt to

    The Liberty Index

Passover, the Festival of Freedom, is rapidly approaching. This is a perfect time to take stock of the status of our national liberty. Have we really progressed this year from enslavement to liberty? Or has our situation deteriorated from liberty to enslavement? In the year that has passed since Passover 5776, Israeli liberty has suffered some severe blows. Liberty is fickle. It is like the air that we breathe; you don’t feel it until you don’t have enough of it. It is very e
